Nio Tha Gift’s “Do or Die” Hits #1 on KSJS Urban Top 40 (Full Chart)
#1 Nio Tha Gift – Do or Die (prod. Ekzakt)
Richmond, California’s very own, Nio Tha Gift, is no stranger to our urban format, as his previous track, “Chain Reaction” hit #1 as well as “The Rise” w/ Ekzakt, Equipto & Just Me. This week, “Do or Die” is #1, receiving the most spins from our on-air dj’s. Check out Nio’s album, The Hustler’s Spirit.

#2
Our #2 track in rotation is also from a bay area emcee, this time from Vallejo, Krypto’s track, “So Many People” became a quick hit with our listeners. Check out the music video for the dope Nima Fadavi produced track which has been blazing our airwaves:

3. Ill Camille – Homegurl (prod. Battlecat)
The #3 track comes from Los Angeles emcee, Ill Camille, who quickly proves she isn’t just another chick rapper, but has a presence on the mic. This cut is another collabo by her with legendary West-Coast producer, Battlecat. Check it out below:

4. Ras Kass – Judas (feat. Chace Infinite & Planet Asia)
Our number 4 track of the week is yet another track from California’s underground hip hop scene). Ras Kass droppin heat once again, on this Focus beat, which features fellow California emcees Chace Infinite and Planet Asia who both rip their verses. This is any fan of lyricism’s cup of tea, bars galore.

5. Locksmith – Be Free (prod. Ka$H)
The #5 track this week comes from another California artist, Locksmith. Lock has been super-active dropping a lot of quality tracks off his upcoming #TheGreenBox album. Although it is unclear whether “Livin Loaded”, “Transitions”, “Be Free”, “Fuck Love”, “Broken” and “Bear With Me” will all appear on the project, if those 6 tracks are any indicator of where Lock’s creativity is at currently, then we are in for a treat. “Be Free” is a dope track because I was able to work on the music video for the track, and its produced by Ka$H (Soul Council), one of the dopest producers on 9th Wonder’s Jamla Records. Lock will be headlining a show at The Agenda Lounge on May 10th, along with some other dope acts, stay tuned as KSJS will be involved and have more details on that.
