@DaLocksmith Hits #1 on Urban Charts with “For Now” ft. @RebeccaTheVoice

Bay Area emcee Locksmith has been slaying our rotation ever since tracks like “Rare Form” and “Man Up” several years ago. He continued to do so as he collaborated with Ski Beatz on tracks like “Lock” and “Devil’s Lasso”, and with records like “The Pit”, “Take Me Away” off Labyrinth“Be Free” and “Bear With Me” off The Green Box, and “The Hardest Song Ever” and “Your Loss” off A Thousand Cuts. Its always dope for me to see Lock doing his thing, he has been one of my favorite emcees since he was in the group, “The Frontline” during the Hyphy movement. I remember watching his freestyle escapades on TRL live, and have been a fan ever since.

Now he has released his latest LP, Lofty Goals, and the second single, “For Now” hits #1 this week after “Blinded” had hit #2 back on June 7th. Check out the video for “For Now” below, and stream purchase Lofty Goals

Coming in at #5 is another Bay Area artist, Rexx Life Raj. He had a big record in rotation in December 2013/January 2014 called “Cookies”, and now he has another big record. “Sincerely Annie” has been a hit with our DJs and listeners, and the energy was evident as he performed the track this past Friday at our The Wave showcase in Downtown San Jose. Check out the dope visuals for the track which showcases Rexx Life Raj’s raps and vocals.
