Clever wordplay and Talented Songwriting Propel @Sahtyre ‘s “World, Peace” to #1 on Urban Charts

This week on the Urban Top 40, @Sahtyre ‘s @DerekPopeMusic produced single, “World, Peace” hits #1. It is considered by many to be his best work yet, which is a big compliment considering the emcee hailing from Los Angeles has dropped several dope projects and has an arsenal of amazing tracks in his discography. On “World, Peace” Sahtyre combines clever wordplay, witty songwriting over an infectious Derek Pope production, and the result is audio gold. “World, Peace” hits #1 this week on our Urban Top 40.

Coming in at #2 is Richmond, CA’s Mani Draper with “Ol’ Money”, a dope track which showcases Mani’s lyricism over a melodic Iamsu! production, the second half of the track is produced by the very talented Ian Mckee (known for his extensive work with Rexx Life Raj and other buzzing East Bay artists). Mani has graced our rotation back in mid-2015 with the Iamsu! and Domo Genesis assisted “Last Action Hero”. Ol’ Money is a great track to return to the charts with, and we are very excited to hear his upcoming drops.

Coming in at #3 is veteran lyricist, Locksmith with “Koolio” produced by Mike Top Notch. Yet another Richmond native, Lock spits thought-provoking and witty lyrics over this catchy audio canvas, and proves that even on mixtape tracks, Lock’s commanding voice and presence on the mic is a force to be reckoned with. Koolio lives on Lock’s latest project, The Lock Sessions.

Coming in at #4 is Saba with “Church/Liquor Store” featuring Noname. Saba has dropped one of the best projects of 2016 with Bucket List Project, and this track is just one of the reasons why the project has been met with fans and critics approval. Both Saba and Noname spit memorable bars over the melodic Cam O’bi beat.

Coming in at #5 is A$AP Rocky’s banger “Put That On My Set” which sees him and UK Grime star, Skepta murdering the Hector Delgado beat. The track lives on A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 1, a homage to the late A$AP Yams.
