Bay Area’s @Caleborate Hits #1 on Urban Charts again with “Make Me & Take Me”

The homie @Caleborate has been one of those artists who has been consistently pushing the Bay Area sound forward. The Berkeley, by way of Sacramento, based artist is one of those chameleon’s who is usually heard over boom-bap and jazzy hip-hop instrumentals, however he has shown a lot of range with appearances on tracks like Lil Dad’s “IDK”, Nef the Pharaoh’s “Don’t Stress” and Rexx Life Raj & YMTK’s “Merlot”. On “Make Me & Take Me” he sounds very comfortable over the soulful sample which is a result of collaboration by 3 of the Bay Area’s hottest producers: Mikos Da Gawd, P-Lo & Drew Banga. The track hit #1 on our most recent rotation to end the month of August.

Coming in at #2 are The Cool Kids, with “Checkout” who have released the tracklist, for their upcoming album Special Edition Grand Master Deluxe which sees them joining forces after a hiatus which spanned from roughly 2011 (and a few shows in 2012) until now. Previous leaks “Running Man” and “Connect Four” which both did well on our airwaves last year, will not be on the album, however “TV Dinner” and “Checkout” are both present. If the leaks are any indicator of the quality the album will bring, we will be in for a treat next week when they release it on the 15th. Check out “Checkout” below (haha):
