Mha Iri Jan 15, 2026 @ 1015 Folsom 
Throttle started off the New Year strong with Mha Iri headlining the 1015 Folsom upper stage. If you haven’t heard of Throttle yet you’re in for a treat. They host a variety of techno events running late into the night on select Thursdays. You’ll find DJ’s from all over the world mixing on their variety of stages. This subculture of music allows for an intimate event and a close knit community of those willing to burn the midnight oil on the dance floor for the chance to experience sounds of the underground. These events are exactly what people listen to 90.5 KSJS for, a chance to experience something off the beaten path.
When I say that they started off the year strong I mean STRONG. Mha Iri is a Scottish industrial techno DJ and producer. I’m talking 145 bmp, my legs could barely keep up. With her modern take on melodic techno I swear I was stepping into a scene from the Matrix.
1015 Folsom has a variety of stages and set up’s. It keeps things exciting being able to walk into the same venue but seeing a different stage. Mha Iri was set up upstairs, a bit of a smaller stage but I swear it’s amazing to see the artist up close from every spot on the floor. The light technicians needed a raise because the way that they were keeping up with her baseline made it a fully body experience. From hearing the music to seeing the lights, you also got an amazing shake from the intensity of the bass. That’s one of the beautiful things about EDM, it’s more than just the music it’s truly an entire production and experience.
I love to take a second and step back to look at the crowd. Everyone is entirely immersed in the bass line. Bodies moving to the melodic sound, as if we are all free under the spell of techno music. Honestly could not think of a better way to start the year off.
