Shoreline Mafia made their intro that night with a dialogue visual interview asking the duo questions, asking “How does it feel to be back?” and recalling “How does tonight live up to those first shows?” followed by both artists giving their own take, an interesting opening giving a fresh feel to a new beginning in their careers. Opening with their track “Back in Bidness”, the first single off of their recent album. With plenty of smoke shooting out of the stage cannons, the crowd did not miss with their energy the entire night. Shoreline went on to play their most recent hits ROCKIN and HOLLYWOOD and taking the crowd to their early albums like ShorelineDoThatShit, Traplantic and Mafia Bidness. I definitely enjoyed their set and the crowd work was definitely some of the best coming from each performer including DJ Vision, Yung Chowder and Sepa, a well curated tour with local artists by the duo coming back to their fans.

  1. This post is very insightful! Two things that stood out the most were the amazing photos you published alongside the blog, as well as the mentions of the artist’s Bay Area roots. Thank you!

  2. Fire concert review, very cool to see that Shoreline Mafia’s at least partially back with OhGeesy and Fenix Flexin. Also had to check out Yung Chowder after reading this, he definitely has some good songs out.

  3. This new wave if music really sets the bar for the next gen artists. Shoreline mafia has become a household name and definitely a group i want to see live.

  4. Based on the photos, I can sure tell it was a good time! Concerts with high energy and colorful lights are always the best ones, and I read there were smoke coming out of the stage’s canons as well. Based off the wonderful pictures, I could tell the vibes were absolutely elite, especially with Yung Chowder and DJ vision.

  5. I think it’s really neat when shows have DJs to get the vibe going for what’s to come. I went to a show at the Catalyst a month before this and had one play ‘People are Strange’ by The Doors, and it also had a whole lightshow to accompany it.

  6. I love that they started their set with a little question and answer. I feel like this makes the concert feel more personal and gives each audience a little something different. These little moments don’t take away from the music they add to the idea that these are just two humans having their own experience and I feel like that is really beautiful.

  7. WOW! It sounds like this was an incredible concert. I definitely need to check out their music now. The pictures really add to this piece too! You can’t beat a good concert. Did you get any of the exclusive merch?

  8. Two things that really stood out to me were how the show began with a visual-interview and introspective moment (asking “How does it feel to be back?”) which gave a sense of renewal and emotional weight to the night. And I loved that they didn’t just rely on nostalgia: mixing their newest album tracks (like “Back in Bidness”) with older hits shows they care about both their roots and their growth.

  11. The energy of the show really stood out to me, especially how hyped the crowd was during the big songs. It felt intense and fun through the writing. I wonder which song got the biggest reaction. I would have loved to experience this concert, and will keep my eyes out for these artists.

  12. The visual description of the “dialogue visual interview” intro was really striking. Using a pre-recorded Q&A on screen to start the show is a brilliant way to address their hiatus and reunion immediately, setting a narrative tone before the music even starts. It shows they understand their own story. My question is: Do you think this reunion tour will lead to a permanent comeback, or is it just a celebration of their past era?

  13. It’s crazy to me how Shoreline’s fan base is still so huge to be having sold-out shows in cities like Santa Cruz. They haven’t made music in so long together, I feel like that should have greatly reduced the number of their fans, but I guess they still got it.
